Saving the best for last, really? After the gore fest of Rosemary’s Baby part 2 that was part 1 this really was a breath of fresh air. It takes what you loved from the previous movies and expands and uses them for their best in this and the results are spectacular. This is a very ‘so bad its good’ -movie that are rare to find and always enjoyable.
Summary:
Edward’s and Bella’s baby Renesmee is born. Bella is learning her vampire skills, but the Volturi (see? Finally using their real title. Made you wait for it. Hah!) find out about her and they think she is going to be trouble. So the Cullen’s call upon witnesses from their family and beyond to see that Renesmee is not going to be nay trouble. It looks like a battle is going to happen…
This seemed to me the closest of the sequels to resemble the first movie, except better in terms of quality. The jokes are HILARIOUS and many scenes will have you roaring with laughter at the silliness and the odd lines. But also the stales and the artistry put in to it in a very self-conscious way. I mean, Bill Condon the director clearly knew what material he was getting, how devoted the fans were, what the source material lacked and he tried to make the best and the most entertaining movie he could manage out of this finale. And it kinda works.
The acting is good as usual, even better in some cases, as I think all the actors were glad this series was going to end and they are relieved to do these final scenes for this movie knowing there is nothing to come after it. The new actors they bring in as Vampires all over the world, along with hefty amount of stereotyping and racism in certain parts (I’m not an expert on Amazonian’s but I have a feeling the way they dress is incorrect, correct me in the comments if I’m wrong) as well as bad accents to make the Vampire world larger. I enjoyed these people more than the main characters and I wished the books and movies would have just been of a group of vampires all over the world and how they meet up once a year or something. Oh wait there is something like that! What We Do In The Shadows by Taika Waititi, now that’s a good vampire comedy I highly recommend watching on Halloween.
Now to the action scene in the finale in the end is a very big BEST moment of the movie. Everything desecrates as vampires, werewolves and Volturi’s fight one another with their respected powers and the earth cracks. IT IS AWESOME! The end will surely have you screaming NOOOOOO at the screen when it ends.
All in all I liked this very much. A fitting end to the series I have had to endure watching and thankfully it didn’t disappoint. So yeah watch this movie, it’s really entertaining at least and you don’t need any deep thinking to enjoy it since the romance drama is dealt with already. Even to see the many cameos by now famous actors is going to be fun just for a chuckle of where are they now and how many BETTER movies they were going to be after this.
OH AND RAMI MALEK IS IN THIS!
ALSO LEE PACE WHO IS REALLY SCRUFFY LOOKING!
AND MICHAEL SHEEN IS THE BEST WITH THE FUNNIEST LAUGH YOU’VE EVER HEARD! I WAS ROARING IT WAS SO FUNNY!
(Thought I’d save you the trouble, he is Oscar nominated after all and it will give you a chuckle in what kinda of a movie he is in, but he still acts his best)
Thank you for reading!
